§ 1. Body politic and corporate; powers as incorporated town under state law.

  • The inhabitants of the Town of Strasburg, in the County of Shenandoah, as the same is now or hereafter may be established by fixed territorial limits, shall be and are hereby made a body, politic and corporate, to be known and designated by the name of the Town of Strasburg and as such shall have and exercise the powers conferred upon incorporate towns under the general laws of the State of Virginia, passed under and pursuant to the Constitution of said state, for the government of cities and towns of the commonwealth (so far as the same apply to towns as defined by the general law now in force and as hereafter may be amended and changed by the general assembly) and the provisions of the general laws and the Constitution of the state, relative to such towns as are hereby incorporated in and made a part of the Charter of the said Town of Strasburg as fully in every respect as if such general laws and constitution provisions were fully set forth herein, except insofar as the same are inconsistent with the provisions of this Act [Charter].
